So today I had a day off so I got up early and went to one of my favorite coffee shops, Root Cafe, and read The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. I haven't sat and read in a coffee shop for a really long time, and I forgot how nice and relaxing it is. I had to most amazing almond cream scone and a cappucino which had really fun foam art on top! I'm really liking The Pillars of the Earth, it's a story set in the Middle Ages about a poor family whose head is a stone mason, a prior and the church, and politics dealing with the king. It's a really good read even though it looks a bit daunting at 900+ pages. I think I talked about the miniseries in on of my Cinema at Home posts, so if it sounds interesting you can watch that first to see if you'd really like it.
