So yesterday I worked pretty much all day, and was really busy until the last 3 hours of work, which I spent staring at my computer screen and willing people to come up and ask a question or check out a book. As we were turning off the lights and getting ready to leave, I turn around and on this little cabinet that we don't use very often is the shell of a giant cicada! I looked at it so quickly I jumped back and screamed and generally looked really nuts in front of my coworkers. I made everyone come look at it because it was so perfectly placed. We all agreed that it had to have been put there by our one coworker who is very nature friendly. He probably thought it was cool, but I just thought it was gross! It was just really embarrassing that I ended up being scared by the shell of a bug, not even the actual bug!

Later today I am going on a behind the scenes tour of the Greater Cleveland Aquarium downtown with the Cleveland Emerging Museum Professionals group I'm a member of. I haven't been to the aquarium yet, it's been open for a few years now, and I think it will be super fun to go and see the exhibits as well as learn a few behind the scenes secrets!

Do you have any fun plans this weekend?

  1. I love the outfit, you look so cute! haha I would be so afraid of the cicada! Growing up, we had a tree filled of them and in the summer when they would shed their shells, there would be tons of them and it would always freak me out! Have fun at the aquarium today! I haven't been to the Cleveland one yet, you'll have to let me know how it is! Happy Friday Amia!

  2. Beautiful dress! And I love the shoes :) Sorry about the cicada! At least it made a great story. I'm totally used to seeing weird stuff like that just lying around the house. it happens when you have 7 nature loving siblings!

    1. Haha I actually asked him why he put it there today and he just started laughing and told me a little boy brought it in and handed it to him!
