Coffee Shop Hangs (Blogtember #18)

Go to a coffee shop. Order a favorite drink. Write about what makes you happy and what makes you sad. Or write about anything you'd like! Bonus points for including a photo from the coffee shop. (I recommend downloading Ommwriter and bringing headphones along!) *if you can't make it to a coffee shop, at least leave your usual space and write someplace new.

I headed to one of my favorite coffee shops, Phoenix Coffee and I brought my headphones and turned on the Beatles. They just moved locations, actually just down the street from their old shop, and the layout is so different. It's so much more open than the old shop. I haven't decided yet if I like it. The old shop had a fireplace and lots of comfy little mix and match chairs, and the new one is a lot more uniform and clean lines. Since the store is so much more open I felt awkward taking pictures because everyone could see me, so the picture I have is a picture from the old store.

Some things that make me happy are: coffee (hazelnut mocha swirls), tea (earl grey), leaves changing colors, the smell of old books and bookstores, fluffy blankets, baking, morning walks in the park, music and concerts, baby animals.

Things that make me sad: other sad people, poppy seed muffins, ripping out multiple rows of knitting because of mistakes, horror movies, snow, destroying books to make jewelry or decorative boxes, (500) Days of Summer (I love the movie, but it makes me sad every time).

What are some things that make you happy and sad? Do you have a favorite coffee shop in your town?

  1. We have no neat coffee shops in our tiny town here in Louisiana. Shreveport or Ruston are our closest ones, so I don't get to go to them as often as I'd like. I love coffee shops though!
