Winter Blues

Sweater: Old Navy//Skirt: LOFT

Well, I made it an entire two weeks without any outfit posts. I think I'm in a winter rut. Taking outfit photos inside has become a little sad but it's just been way too cold to go outside and I'm feeling a bit uninspired. I saw a post about indoor photos and lighting over on Making Nice in the Midwest and I think I'm going to try some of Mandi's tips, in particular using a different background, maybe different colored fabrics as a backdrop? I think that that would help make me want to take photos, I'm just tired of seeing my bookshelf in the background and I bet you all are too! (Also, apologies for the wonky colors of these pictures, the sun was not cooperating an it kept getting darker and lighter!)

In more fun news, I got new glasses as you can see! I have been wearing the same style black plastic frame glasses for 4+ years, so I wanted to try something different. I am loving the fun tortoiseshell color and the slightly bigger lenses. I always get so excited when I get to pick out new glasses since I can only go every other year. Do any other glasses-wearers get as irrationally as excited as I do about new frames?

Other fun news, I'm starting a volunteer position at Cleveland Museum of Art in their library working on a linked data project. Basically I'll be linking library materials to their online collections. I think this is going to be a great experience and I'll learn a lot there. The artist I'm starting with is Rembrandt, and honestly I don't know too much about him other than he likes to paint a lot of men in hats, so I picked up a few books about him and am reading up on him.

Anything new with you lovelies? Have a great day!

  1. I like your head scarf! Here lately I seem to wear them a lot!:)

  2. I get SO EXCITED about new glasses. I don't wear them super often, but I like to have different options. And I know what you mean about not wanting to take photos-when it is below zero for days on end one gets a bit tired of that. I like these indoor shots though-that yellow curtain is lovely!
