Well...I'm dipping my toes back in the blog world. I missed you all! I missed writing my own posts and commenting on all of yours. Life just got too busy for me to give the blog the attention it needed, but I think I'm ready to come back and get back in the swing of things! For now, my old blogging schedule will stay that way, done for now, and I'm just going to go with the flow.
This past month and half or so I've gone to a bunch of concerts, ate yummy food, visited my friends in Detroit, knit a ton and listened to a bunch of audiobooks as I knit. I used to highly dislike audiobooks because I felt like it wasn't "real" reading, but I have found so many benefits from listening to them. I can still have "reading" time while doing other things, like driving, cleaning, walking, or knitting. During the blogging break I listened to Eleanor & Park, Landline, Fangirl, Say What You Will, Slaughterhouse Five, and The Ocean at the End of the Lane. I also read some graphic novels in between, the Y:The Last Man series. This is the most amount of books I've gotten through in such a short amount of time in years, I'm sort of surprised myself seeing them listed here. I recommend all of these books, minus maybe Slaughterhouse Five...I'd never read it before, and it's one of those books that I feel like everyone reads and I'd seen the line "So it goes" quoted everywhere so I built up my expectations and I think this is why I was slightly disappointed with it.
Something else I'm excited about it Halloween coming up! Halloween is my favorite holiday behind Christmas and I love dressing up and doing fun Halloween activities. In preparation, I've been watching a few classic horror films, Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Wolfman to name a few. I am a big scaredy cat when it comes to watching modern horror films, so I don't (the Ouija movie commercial really freaks me out every time it comes on!), but I figured older movies would be so silly and cheesy there would be nothing to be afraid of!
Has anything fun or exciting happened in your life since I've been on break? Let me know in the comments below!
