What I've Read: Attachments

I've been meaning to read Attachments by Rainbow Rowell since I read Eleanor & ParkFangirl, and Landline last fall. It's no secret, I am a Rainbow Rowell fan. Attachments is set in the late 90s and it's about a man named Lincoln whose job is to review flagged employee emails in a newsroom office and send out warning to those who are abusing company emailing policies by sending personal emails. One day he comes across two friends, Beth and Jennifer, whose conversations are continually flagged but he just can't stop reading, and eventually falls in love with one of them through her writing. Lincoln has to decide what to do; to turn them in for inappropriate emailing, or continue reading and find out who this mystery girl is.I don't want to spoil the ending so I'll leave it at that as far as summary, but I absolutely loved the story. You get to read the emails back and forth between Beth as Jennifer as they would have been read by Lincoln, and there are also storylines outside of the office, at least for Lincoln. Lincoln taking this job helped him grow as a person, and may or may not have helped him get the girl.       2/75
