Runaways Vols. 3, 4, & 5 by Brian K. Vaughan
Anyway, on to the important part of this post! Volumes 3, 4, and 5 were stellar. I'm going to try not to be too spoiler-y, but if you really want to be surprised especially since I'm further in the series now, you may want to avoid this post. If not, read away! So there is a traitor who was in the group, but is now no longer. The rest of the gang is hiding out under a museum, and have been visited by one of their future selves, who in their last dying breath, warned them about a super villain who was currently their age that they must destroy now. The kids find this person, and he learns a horrible secret about himself, and the gang, while keeping an eye on him, let him join them on the run. In these volumes, we also lose another gang member, you'll have to read to see why, but I was kind of upset about it. They use the super villain child to replace that character. At the end of volume 5 we begin seeing a lot of Marvel characters, because in a turn of events the gang ends up in New York! So now Spiderman, Captain America, Wolverine, Iron Man, and a few that honestly I don't remember the names...but they are all involved. I'm excited to see what happens in the next few volumes. Looking ahead, the authors change. Volumes 6 and 7 are still Brian K. Vaughan, but 8-11 are written by three different people, so we'll see how that changes the writing tone, or if it does at all!
